Possui mestrado, doutorado e livre-docência em Filosofia pela Universidade Ludwig-Maximilian de Munique. Atuou em várias universidades na Alemanha e no Brasil. Atualmente é Professor Titular da Universidade Federal Fluminense. Trabalha na área da Filosofia Analítica, com ênfase em Frege.
