Professora Titular do Departamento de Geoquímica da Universidade Federal Fluminense (RJ), coordenadora do Laboratório de Oceanografia Operacional e Paleoceanografia e do Diretório de Pesquisa CNPq- Rede Interinstitucional de Paleoceanografia e Oceanografia. Vem atuando na área de geoquímica marinha aplicada à reconstituição paleoceanográfica / paleoambiental. Coordena diversos projetos de pesquisa neste tema, como também orienta(ou) diversas dissertações de mestrado, teses de doutorado e supervisão de pós-doutorado no assunto.
